Sonia Millsom

As CEO of Oxeon, Sonia Millsom champions a powerful vision: reimagining a healthcare system every person can trust. With over 30 years of experience, she leads Oxeon's mission to drive healthcare transformation by placing the most visionary leaders at the nexus of industry change, impact all tables —executive teams, boardrooms, and cap tables.

Sonia's career reflects Oxeon's core belief that people power outcomes. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated Oxeon's values of intellectual curiosity, resilience, and a spirit of generosity. She remains heavily influenced by her time spent as a Maternal and Child Health Peace Corps volunteer in Morocco, where she witnessed firsthand the human cost of fragmented healthcare systems. This foundational experience shaped her people-first approach to healthcare transformation.

Known for garnering sharp insights, an ability to forecast consumer needs, and a knack for anticipating emerging trends, Sonia has built solutions that enhance care delivery across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations. With a passion for innovation, she harnesses those skills to collaborate with founders and boards to transform initial concepts into sustainable growth strategies and successful exits.

As the former Chief Growth Officer at Iora Health, she drove expansion that culminated in a $2.1 billion acquisition. Her leadership journey also includes strategic roles at Best Doctors, Health Dialog, and UnitedHealthcare. Before becoming an Oxeonite, she served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Maven Clinic, helping it become the first unicorn valuation in women’s and family health, setting a new benchmark for an entire category, and shaping its trajectory.

Sonia's extensive relationship network spans the entire healthcare ecosystem—from innovative startups to global enterprises—connecting payers, providers, and purchasers. These relationships reflect Oxon’s mission-driven ethos whereby uniting leaders and ideas create a flywheel advantage, fueling solutions that deliver long-term, sustainable value.

Currently, Sonia serves on the boards of Clever Care Health Plan, Suvida Health, Hopscotch Primary Care, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI and is the Chair of the Compensation Committee extending her impact across the national healthcare landscape. Sonia was recognized on the 2025 Forbes 50 Over 50 list in the investment category for her work influencing a new era of health innovation.

Sonia holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Boston College. She resides in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, where she and her partner are raising two daughters—the next generation of strong women.
