SUMMARY:

Founded in 2018, Strive Health is creating a new standard of kidney care to cut inpatient utilization, increase the adoption of home dialysis, and significantly improve patient outcomes and experience. Strive Health is partnering with leading health systems nationwide to reinvent how primary care physicians and nephrologists identify and treat kidney disease patients before they reach the need for dialysis. Leveraging comparative and predictive data and analytics to identify patients at risk, Strive Health’s interventions reduce the rate of emergent dialysis crash by 75% through pre-ESRD care and education. Strive seeks to get CKD and ESRD patients the care they need, via a comprehensive clinical model utilizing nephrologists and nurse extenders (“Kidney Heroes”) to engage and treat patients along their care journey.

Based in Denver, CO, Strive Health is backed by New Enterprise Associates and Town Hall Ventures. Strive Health has raised $77.5M in capital since its founding in 2018.

Our Relationship:

After thousands of conversations with key healthcare executives, it became clear to us that clinical fragmentation and perverse incentives have resulted in stagnant, suboptimal outcomes for kidney disease patients.  Leveraging our collective network to validate our impressions, the Oxeon team developed a compelling business plan for Strive Health that would fundamentally transform kidney care. Oxeon funded the business plan, recruited the leadership team, leveraged health system relationships to secure anchor clients and raised early institutional capital from NEA and Town Hall Ventures. Joining CEO Chris Riopelle are CBO, Bob Badal and CMO, Dr. Shika Pappoe, both of whom Oxeon helped place. We continue to leverage our network of relationships with the country’s leading integrated delivery networks to build out a robust business development pipeline, as well as serve as members of Strive’s Board of Directors.
